How do I transfer my Minnesota license to Real?

Welcome to Real!

Steps to become fully active at Real in Minnesota:

  1. Complete a Real Join Application
  2. Transfer Your License to Real
  3. Facilitate Your Board and MLS Transfers
  4. Update Your Marketing/Advertising
  5. Transfer Your Active Listings to Real
  6. Register for Training
  7. Join the Workvivo State Space

1️⃣ COMPLETE A REAL JOIN APPLICATION

Complete a Real Application by signing the Independent Contractor Agreement (ICA) and paying the Application Fee using the steps below.

You will need the following items to complete your application:

  • License Number(s) and Expiration Date(s)
  • MLS and Board information
  • Sponsor name and email
  • A photo of the front of your Driver’s License
  • Payment information for the Application Fee

***Remember your login credentials that you create during the Application since this will be your login information for reZEN once your application has been approved.

2️⃣ TRANSFER YOUR LICENSE TO REAL

Active Licensees: You have an active license OR Transitioning to Real Select (Referral Only) program

To transfer your existing license to Real, follow these steps:

  • Your onboarding coordinator will affiliate your license to Real Broker on the MN Commerce Dept's pulse portal website. The license transfer will be immediate once entered on the pulse portal so please notify onboarding@therealbrokerage.com immediately if you wish to transfer your license at a later date if you did not already indicate your preferred join date on the application. 
  • Please note the MN Commerce Dept charges a $20.40 license transfer fee which will be paid by Real upfront to expedite your onboarding. You will receive an invoice for the re-payment once you are onboard.
  • Once the license transfer is complete, we'll approve your join application in the system and reach out to you with next steps in the process.

New Licensees: Just passed the exam OR Currently Inactive Agents

For license issuance, your onboarding coordinator will submit your license application on the MN pulse portal website. Please note the Commerce Dept's license issuance fee of $112.50 will be paid by Real upfront to expedite your onboarding. You will receive an invoice for the re-payment once you are onboard.

  1. You will need to send PDF copies of your coursework and exam scores
    • A copy of each course as a separate PDF along with the National and State exam scores.  All must be in PDF only.  Please email to onboarding@therealbrokerage.com. 
       
  2. Sign the Real Estate Salesperson Application Attestation via electronic signature.  Please check Spam if you don't locate it in your inbox.  Please sign it as soon as possible.  
     
  3. MN Pulse also requires that you answer the questions below:  Please copy/paste these questions with your answers and email to onboarding@therealbrokerage.com:
    1. Have you ever been convicted of a crime, had a judgment withheld or deferred, or have you been charged with committing a crime?  
      • Crime includes a misdemeanor, gross misdemeanor, felony or a military offense.  You may exclude misdemeanor traffic citations or convictions involving DUI or DWI, driving without a license, reckless driving, or driving with a suspended or revoked license and juvenile offenses. 
      • Convicted means but is not limited to, having been found guilty by verdict of a judge or jury, having entered a plea of guilty or nolo contendre, or having been given probation, a suspended sentence or a fine.  
    2. Have you or any business in which you are or were an owner, partner, officer or director, or member or manager of a limited liability company, ever been involved in an administrative proceeding regarding any professional or occupational license, or registration?
      • “Involved” means having a license censured, suspended, revoked, canceled, terminated: or, being assessed a fine, cease and desist order, a prohibition order, a compliance order, placed on probation or surrendering a license to resolve an administrative action.  It also means being named as a party to an administrative, investigative or arbitration proceeding, which is related to a professional or occupational license, including any investigation by the MN Dept of Commerce.  It also means having a license application denied or the act of withdrawing an application to avoid a denial.  
    3. Has any judgment been rendered against you or any business in which you are or were an owner, partner, officer, director, or member or manager of a limited liability company, for overdue monies, or have you ever been subject to a bankruptcy proceeding?  
    4. Have you been notified by any jurisdiction to which you are applying of any delinquent tax obligation that is not the subject of a repayment agreement?  
    5. Have you ever been a party to, a defendant, or found liable in, any lawsuit or arbitration proceeding involving allegations of fraud, misappropriation or conversion of funds, misrepresentation, breach of fiduciary duty or breach of contract?  
    6. Do you have a child support obligation in arrearage? 
    7. Have you ever been licensed as a real estate broker or salesperson in any state other than Minnesota? 
    8. Are you currently an owner, officer or partner of a licensed RE Company through which you will be licensed?  
    9. Do you have any unclaimed property to report under Minnesota Statutes 345.37?

 

After completing the above steps:

After your license is affiliated with Real, you will need to transfer membership with your MLS and Board/Association. Our office ID to use when transferring your membership is 200018. 
If you are in the Twin Cities area please join SPAAR MLS, at least as an MLS only member. That way all of the forms, such as for making offers, will auto populate with our logos, etc. You can find the prefilled SPAAR MLS Only Application form here. Already a Real agent? Please contact the Onboarding Team and they will add your license to your existing reZEN account.

4️⃣ UPDATE YOUR MARKETING/ADVERTISING

Please review all Minnesota advertising requirements here:

In all instances of advertising in the state of Minnesota, an advertisement must include:

  • Legal name of Brokerage; Real Broker, LLC or approved marketing name; Real or Real Broker
  • Brokerage name must be clearly and conspicuously displayed.
  • While not mandatory, it is highly recommended to add Real’s logo for brand continuity.
  • The Fair Housing logo is strongly encouraged.

5️⃣ TRANSFER YOUR ACTIVE LISTINGS TO REAL

If you are re-listing your active listing(s) with Real Broker, please submit forms electronically to MNsign@therealbrokerage.com for signature using an electronic signature platform.

  2. Attend Real Transaction Training - Tuesdays and Thursdays @ 1PM ET to learn how to enter listings and transactions, understand the steps to getting paid, process referral payments, and properly terminate listings or transactions.
     
  3. Attend Navigating Real's Technology to learn how to effectively use Real Signature, Real Academy, and Workvivo to help you work smarter and more efficiently.
     
  4. Attend Marketing Training - Mondays @ 1PM ET to learn about the many marketing resources available to help you build your brand. 
     
  5. Attend Real's Benefits and Programs to understand what is offered and how to access benefits and programs exclusive to Real Agents.
     
  6. Attend Ways to Earn Income at Real to learn more about Real’s wealth-building opportunities like stock and equity, Elite Agent status, revenue share, and more.
     

7️⃣ JOIN THE WORKVIVO STATE SPACE

Workvivo is our online Real community hub for Real agents. Each State/Province has a Group space for you to to easily see updates and access meetings and resources. You can also join others groups to interact with other agents at Real, especially for referrals and tips.

8️⃣ VISIT AND BOOKMARK THE REAL KNOWLEDGEBASE 

The Real KnowledgeBase is our collection of digital articles, including FAQs, how-to guides, and tutorials, that you can search to learn more and understand all the resources and benefits of Real.
 

9️⃣ DOWNLOAD THE REAL APP

To do so, go to www.joinreal.com/app on your mobile device. You’ll be prompted to download the app. You can also search for Real reZEN through the app store on your mobile device.

**Important, you will use the login information you created in Step 1 to log into your agent application.
