There are six ways to earn equity at Real:
- Stock Purchase Plan
- SPP Bonus Incentives
- Stock Award for Capping
- Elite Agent Production Award
- Elite Agent Cultural Award
- Attracting Shares
#1: Stock Purchase Plan (SPP)
Agents can set aside a portion of their commission as an investment, to be used for purchases of Real’s shares. This allows Real agents to develop an equity stake in the company they’re helping to build and grow.
All shares in this program are Restricted Stock Units (RSUs) and have a 1 year vesting period. This means you must wait 1 year to sell the stock. See: What is a vesting period?
Before you cap, 5% of your net commission income will be invested in stock. After you cap, you will invest 10% of your net commission income in stock. In both cases, we have a maximum contribution amount. Once you hit the maximum contribution, we won't be able to invest your commission income in the SPP anymore.
Some things to note:
- Shares are purchased based on the closing fair market value, on the last trading day of the month in which the commissions are distributed.
- Agents can opt in and out of the program at any time, but they can only opt in once per anniversary year.
Additionally, SPP contributions must hit an initial $250 minimum before account funds will be used to purchase stock.
#2: SPP Bonus Incentives
The best part about the SPP is you will receive bonus shares every time you contribute - at no cost to you. This is an additional incentive to help build the company.
Before you cap, Real will reward you with 10% bonus shares. After you cap, the bonus increases to 20%.
All shares in this program are Restricted Stock Units (RSUs) and have a 1 year vesting period. Agents must remain with Real through the vesting period to own the shares outright. See: What is a vesting period?
How it works:
- Whenever you contribute to the SPP, Real calculates the # of shares you purchased and multiplies it by the Bonus Share (%) percentage to calculate the number of bonus shares. Real gives you those shares - at no cost to you.
#3: Stock Award for Capping
Agents are eligible to earn additional stock awards when they reach the annual cap paid to Real in their anniversary year.
All shares in this program are Restricted Stock Units (RSUs) and have a 3-year vesting period. Agents must remain with Real through the vesting period to own the shares outright. See: What is a vesting period?
These stock awards are subject to change as Real's agent count grows.
#4: Elite Agent Production Award
Real’s top earning agents are eligible for an additional stock award of $16K and their transaction fees decrease to $129 if they meet one of the following criteria after meeting their annual cap:
- They pay $6K in post-cap transaction fees
- They close more than $500K GCI AND close 10 transactions of $1M in value or greater
All shares in this program are Restricted Stock Units (RSUs) and have a 3-year vesting period. Agents must remain in good standing throughout the vesting period.
All qualifiers must be met within a single anniversary year.
#5: Elite Agent Cultural Award
Top earning agents who have achieved Elite Status are subsequently eligible for an additional stock award of $8K if they give back to the entire agent population by teaching monthly topics at the Real Academy, or meeting other cultural contribution criteria as defined. Note: All topics must be approved in advance.
All shares in this program are Restricted Stock Units (RSUs) and have a 3-year vesting period. Agents must remain in good standing throughout the vesting period.
All qualifiers must be met within a single anniversary year.
#6: Attracting Shares
Agents are eligible to earn additional stock awards when they directly attract another agent to Real, and the attracted agent completes their first qualified transaction with a minimum GCI of $2,000 on a single transaction. (The $2,000 is not cumulative).
All shares in this program are Restricted Stock Units (RSUs) and have a 3-year vesting period. Agents must remain with Real through the vesting period to own the shares outright. See: What is a vesting period?
These stock awards are subject to change as Real's agent count grows.
