After you sign the Independent Contractor Agreement:

Now that you have signed your ICA and paid the join fee, it's time to transfer your license to Real! 

Existing Licensees

To transfer your existing license to Real, follow these steps:

• Complete the Application to Change License Status form. You should complete all sections on pages 1 through 7 and sign on the signature page.

• When you get to the Employing Broker Information section, fill out Part 1 with the correct information, depending on whether you are joining as a Residential Agent or Referral Only:

• Your Onboarding Specialist will provide a copy of Real's Errors and Omissions Insurance. 

• Send the form to AKBroker@therealbrokerage.com for signature. Don't forget to let Jacob know if you are transferring to Real as a Residential Agent or a Referral Only agent. 

• When you receive back the form with a completed Employing Broker Information section, send the form to your current broker to complete and sign sections Terminating Broker Information and Broker Notice to Real Estate Commission of Licensee Termination.

• Once the Application to Change License Status form is fully complete by all parties, complete the final sections:
  • Authorization to Discuss Professional License Application Information
  • Letter of Explanation for a Professional Fitness “Yes” Answer
  • Credit Card Payment Form
• Then, mail the application to the State of Alaska Real Estate Commission with all supporting documents (including payment of the $225 transfer of license fee). If possible, hand deliver the application for expedited processing.

New Licensees

To apply for a new professional license online, follow these steps:

• Complete the Real Estate Salesperson Application by Examination form. You should complete all sections on pages 1 through 4 and sign on the signature page. If applicable, complete the Letter of Explanation for a Professional Fitness "Yes" Answer form. 

• Once you have completed pages 1 through 4, send the form to AKBroker@therealbrokerage.com for your new designated broker, Jacob Sebring, to complete and sign section Employing Broker Information. 

• Once the Real Estate Salesperson Application by Examination form is fully complete by all parties, you will mail the application to the State of Alaska Real Estate Commission with all supporting documents outlined on page 1 of the Real Estate Salesperson Application by Examination Instructions and payment of the $390 fee using the Credit Card Payment Form. If possible, hand deliver the application for expedited processing.

After completing the above steps:

Your Designated Broker, Jacob Sebring, and the Onboarding Coordinator will get a message from the State of Alaska confirming the transfer.
