How do I transfer my Alaska license to Real?

Welcome to Real!

Steps to become fully active at Real in Alaska:

  1. Complete a Real Join Application
  2. Transfer Your License to Real
  3. Facilitate Your Board and MLS Transfers
  4. Update Your Marketing/Advertising
  5. Transfer Your Active Listings to Real
  6. Register for Training
  7. Join the Workvivo State Space
  8. Bookmark the Real Knowledge Base
  9. Download the Real App

 

1️⃣ COMPLETE A REAL JOIN APPLICATION

Complete a Real Application by signing the Independent Contractor Agreement (ICA) and paying the Application Fee using the steps below.

You will need the following items to complete your application:

  • License Number(s) and Expiration Date(s)
  • MLS and Board information
  • Sponsor name and email
  • A photo of the front of your Driver’s License
  • Payment information for the Application Fee

***Remember your login credentials that you create during the Application since this will be your login information for reZEN once your application has been approved.

2️⃣ TRANSFER YOUR LICENSE TO REAL

Now that you have signed your ICA and paid the join fee, it's time to transfer your license to Real! 

Existing Licensees

  1. Complete and sign the transfer application. https://www.commerce.alaska.gov/web/Portals/5/pub/rec4951.pdf
    • Do NOT include your payment information on the form. You will pay securely online through the portal on your myalaska account.
  2. Complete Broker Notice to Real Estate Commission of Licensee Termination: Broker Notice to Real Estate Commission of Licensee Termination .  The broker you are leaving needs to complete part 2. If you’re working in a branch office, the managing broker also needs to participate by completing part 3. This form shall be included with the other required documents. 
  3. You will also need to include proof of E&O insurance: E&O Real 2026-2027.pdf (this is Real’s E&O.) 
  4. Complete Employing Broker Form: https://www.commerce.alaska.gov/web/Portals/5/pub/rec4972.pdf

5. All documents should be sent out for broker / associate broker signatures. See above contact information.
 

6. FOR THE FASTEST TRANSFER; - 1.) Login to your “myalaska” account (the same one you use when you renew your license. 2.) Navigate to: Commerce > Corporations, Business, Professional licensing > My license > view details 3.) Scroll down to “Events” 4.) Select “Transfer (online.) 5.) Upload all applicable files and submit. 

7. Send copy of documents to onboarding@therealbrokerage.com  & akbroker@therealbrokerage.com please indicate the day in which you have submitted your documents to the state. 

 

**New Licensees

To apply for a new professional license online, follow these steps:

  • Complete the Real Estate Salesperson Application by Examination form. You should complete all sections on pages 1 through 4 and sign on the signature page. If applicable, complete the Letter of Explanation for a Professional Fitness "Yes" Answer form. 
  • Once you have completed pages 1 through 4, send the form to AKBroker@therealbrokerage.com for your new designated broker, Cody Phillips, to complete and sign section Employing Broker Information. 
  • Once the Real Estate Salesperson Application by Examination form is fully complete by all parties, you will mail the application to the State of Alaska Real Estate Commission with all supporting documents outlined on page 1 of the Real Estate Salesperson Application by Examination Instructions and payment of the $390 fee using the Credit Card Payment Form. If possible, hand deliver the application for expedited processing.

New to Real? Look out for your welcome email once your license transfer is complete. This will include your Post-Onboarding Instructions, details on our Onboarding class, link to our Marketing Center, and more!

Already a Real agent? Please contact Real Support, and our support team will add your license to your existing reZEN account.

4️⃣ UPDATE YOUR MARKETING/ADVERTISING

AK State Requirements

In all instances of advertising in the state of Alaska, any advertisement must include:

•Name of the brokerage, Real Broker Alaska, must appear conspicuous, discernible, and easily identifiable by the public.

• Must appear in all instances of advertising in the state of Alaska: The Licensee’s or Team’s name (if applicable).

• While not mandatory, it is highly recommended to add Real’s logo for brand continuity.

• Include Real logo to build brand equity within the state. (approved logos can be found below).

5️⃣ TRANSFER YOUR ACTIVE LISTINGS TO REAL

If you are re-listing your active listing(s) with Real Broker, please submit forms electronically to akbroker@therealbrokerage.com for signature using an electronic signature platform.

  5. Attend Real's Benefits and Programs to understand what is offered and how to access benefits and programs exclusive to Real Agents.
     
  6. Attend Ways to Earn Income at Real to learn more about Real’s wealth-building opportunities like stock and equity, Elite Agent status, revenue share, and more.
     

7️⃣ JOIN THE WORKVIVO STATE SPACE

Workvivo is our online Real community hub for Real agents. Each State/Province has a Group space for you to to easily see updates and access meetings and resources. You can also join others groups to interact with other agents at Real, especially for referrals and tips.

9️⃣ DOWNLOAD THE REAL APP

To do so, go to www.joinreal.com/app on your mobile device. You’ll be prompted to download the app. You can also search for Real reZEN through the app store on your mobile device.

**Important, you will use the login information you created in Step 1 to log into your agent application.
