1️⃣ COMPLETE A REAL JOIN APPLICATION

Complete a Real Application by signing the Independent Contractor Agreement (ICA) and paying the Application Fee using the steps below.

You will need the following items to complete your application:

License Number(s) and Expiration Date(s)
MLS and Board information
A photo of the front of your Driver’s License
Estimated Closed Sales Volume in the Last 12 Months
Payment information for the Application Fee
Banking Information: Routing and Account Number to receive commissions
Tax ID Information: Social Security Number and Business Entity ID (if applicable)

***Remember your login credentials that you create during the Application since this will be your login information for reZEN.

2️⃣ TRANSFER YOUR LICENSE TO REAL

(click here skip to next section)

Request Sponsorship:

Please log in to your California Department of Real Estate eLicensing System account.

Click on Licensees
Click on elicensing
Click on Sign In
Sign in with your User Name
Put in your Password
Click SIGN IN
Once inside the eLicensing system, New Agents choose "Add Responsible Broker." Existing agents already affiliated with another Brokerage choose "Change Responsible Broker".
Click Enter
Then fill in the Brokerage License Number:
- To join as a Residential Agent: Real Broker's license #: 02022092.
- To join as Referral Only Agent: Real Broker's license #: 02228473.
Click on Save Broker Information
On the next page you will be asked if the Broker is available to confirm the transfer, and you will choose "NO"
You will then be asked if you would like to enter your responsible broker/officer's email address and you will choose "YES"
You will then type in your new responsible state brokers email address: cabroker@therealbrokerage.com
Then re-enter the responsible broker email address again: cabroker@therealbrokerage.com
After confirming the email address, click "Save Email"

Once your license is affiliated with Real and your Join Application is approved you'll receive the Welcome, Next Steps email.

After completing the above steps:

Your Designated State Broker, Robert Watson, will receive a message from the California Department of Real Estate and confirm the transfer.

Already a Real agent? Please contact the Onboarding Team and they will add your license to your existing reZEN account.

3️⃣ FACILITATE YOUR MLS AND BOARD TRANSFERS

Please contact your local board and MLS for transfer instructions. Email documents that require the Designated Broker's signature to casign@therealbrokerage.com using an electronic signing platform for Robert Watson to sign. The brokerage details are below. Please email onboarding@therealbrokerage.com if you need further details.

4️⃣ UPDATE YOUR MARKETING/ADVERTISING

Please review all California advertising requirements here:

Use Real (first letter capitalized, followed by the lower case letters) in descriptive copy. In all instances of advertising in the state of California, an advertisement must include:
- The brokerage name
- Agent’s license number
- Agent’s phone number
- If including an office address, the main office address must be used unless branch office is registered with DRE
- Real’s logo
- The name of a team must (if applicable) include the surname of at least one member and can use the words Team, Group, or Associates afterwards. (please review Team Name requirements here)
- Team logo (if applicable) can be used alone IF registered as a DBA through Real's Private Label Program.

5️⃣ TRANSFER YOUR ACTIVE LISTINGS TO REAL

If you are re-listing your active listing(s) with Real Broker, please submit forms to CA.sign@therealbrokerage.com for signature using an electronic signature platform.

7️⃣ JOIN THE WORKVIVO STATE SPACE

Workvivo is our online Real community hub for Real agents. Each State/Province has a Group space for you to to easily see updates and access meetings and resources. You can also join others groups to interact with other agents at Real, especially for referrals and tips.

8️⃣ VISIT AND BOOKMARK THE REAL KNOWLEDGEBASE

The Real KnowledgeBase is our collection of digital articles, including FAQs, how-to guides, and tutorials, that you can search to learn more and understand all the resources and benefits of Real.

9️⃣ DOWNLOAD THE REAL APP

To do so, go to www.joinreal.com/app on your mobile device. You’ll be prompted to download the app. You can also search for Real reZEN through the app store on your mobile device.

**Important, you will use the login information you created in Step 1 to log into your agent application.

Associate Brokers:

If you are joining Real as a Managing Broker / Broker in Charge, please work with Real’s Brokerage Operations Team to update your license.

You can join as an Associate Broker directly through your CADRE account.

Please log in to your California Department of Real Estate eLicensing System account.
Click View/Update Your Responsible Brokers and Broker-Associates

Click Select next to your license number

Then select the correct Brokerage number:
- To join as a Residential Agent: Real Broker's license #: 02022092.
- To join as Referral Only Agent: Real Broker's license #: 02228473.

Once you submit your request, we will review and certify your request.

Renewal Period

If you are in your Renewal Period and your previous brokerage already signed/submitted your renewal application, we unfortunately cannot transfer your license until your renewal application is approved by the DRE.

If your previous brokerage has not signed or submitted the renewal application, please follow these instructions:

Please fill out and wet sign the DRE’s 216a: Renewal License Checklist. If you need help finding these forms, please see the DRE’s Form Site.
Print and wet sign your CE Credit Certificate
Send both the signed DRE’s 216a: Renewal License Checklist and signed CE Credit Certificate to our Broker by mail:

Our Broker will sign your CE Credit and send the signed forms to the DRE. This is a paper process - it must be mailed to the Broker.
The DRE will review your CE Credit and accept it. Once accepted, we will be able to transfer your license. This could take 4 - 6 weeks.

Restricted License

If you have a restricted License, please share all information about why your license is Restricted with Onboarding@therealbrokerage.com. Our team will review your application and reach out to let you know if we will move forward.

If Real’s Onboarding Team approves your license transfer, please follow the following steps:

Once signed, please send to our Broker by mail:
