Steps to become fully active at Real in Virginia:

1️⃣ COMPLETE A REAL JOIN APPLICATION
Complete a Real Application by signing the Independent Contractor Agreement (ICA) and paying the Application Fee using the steps below.
You will need the following items to complete your application:
- License Number(s) and Expiration Date(s)
- MLS and Board information
- Sponsor name and email
- A photo of the front of your Driver’s License
- Payment information for the Application Fee
***Remember your login credentials that you create during the Application since this will be your login information for reZEN once your application has been approved.

2️⃣ TRANSFER YOUR LICENSE TO REAL

We have two firm licenses you can affiliate with:
- Real Broker as a Residential Agent, and
- Real Broker LFRO as a Referral Agent.
Please make sure that when you complete the below steps, you are using the proper firm license - if you do not complete the steps with the proper firm license, you will be subject to additional transfer fees with DPOR.
- If joining as a Residential Agent, use: 0226026755
- If joining as a Referral Only Agent, use: 0226037157
For Newly Licensed agents:
A paper Application must be submitted in order to affiliate your license with Real Broker.
Our Onboarding team will send out the VA DPOR License Application - Form via Real Signature for completion. Please only use the form our team sends you. DPOR updates their forms and we will always have the most up-to-date version.
Once completed, and signed by you, it will automatically forward to the state Broker for signature.

After the form is fully executed, the completed document will be emailed to you to send to the DPOR.
- Please send the DPOR Application to reboard@dpor.virginia.gov.
- Your application to join Real Broker cannot be approved until DPOR reflects your license affiliation.
- Please send the DPOR Application to reboard@dpor.virginia.gov.
If the online DPOR portal is down, please note that this form will need to be mailed:

For Licensed agents:
- Log into your DPOR Online License Services account.
- After logging in, click the Salesperson link on the bottom right of the screen.
- Click Activate/Transfer Salesperson or Associate Broker License.
- Click Next. On the following page, select No for both questions and Click Next.
- Click Add on the bottom right of the screen.
- Select Firm from the dropdown menu. Then click Next.

Enter the proper Firm License Number:
- If joining as a Residential Agent, enter: 0226026755. Click Next.
- If joining as a Referral Only Agent, enter: 0226037157. Click Next.
- The new brokerage information should be displayed. Click Next.
- Real Broker LLC (or Real Broker LFRO LLC if Referral Only) information will be displayed again. Click Next.
- On the following page, select No for affiliating with a branch office and leave the Branch Office License Number blank. Click Next.
- Answer the remaining questions, following the prompts and selecting the appropriate response(s). You will then pay the transfer fee. *The Commission may update fees, so please allow defer to their website for the most UpToDate information about fees.*
Please note: The state of Virginia requires that real estate agents being paid commissions through an LLC are required to have both a business license and a professional license. Both Licensees must be associated with Real Broker LLC.
After completing the above steps:
Your Designated Broker, Dave Kolakowski, and Onboarding Coordinator will confirm the transfer with the Virginia Department of Licensing.
If you have documents that require signature, please send to dmv.sign@onereal.com for signature.
Once your license is affiliated with Real and your Join Application is approved you'll receive the Welcome, Next Steps email.
New to Real? Look out for your welcome email once your license transfer is complete. This will include your Post-Onboarding Instructions, details on our Onboarding class, link to our Marketing Center and more!
Already a Real agent? Please contact the Onboarding Team and they will add your license to your existing reZEN account.

4️⃣ UPDATE YOUR MARKETING/ADVERTISING
Please review all Virginia advertising requirements here:
In all instances of advertising in the state of Virginia, an advertisement must include:
- Legal name of brokerage
- Name of the licensee and phone number
- The address of the brokerage - “NOT REQUIRED FOR SIGNAGE”
- Brokerage phone number: 855-450-0442
- Real’s logo

5️⃣ TRANSFER YOUR ACTIVE LISTINGS TO REAL
If you are re-listing your active listing(s) with Real Broker, please submit forms electronically to DMV.sign@therealbrokerage.com for signature using an electronic signature platform.

To do so, go to www.joinreal.com/app on your mobile device. You’ll be prompted to download the app. You can also search for Real reZEN through the app store on your mobile device.
**Important, you will use the login information you created in Step 1 to log into your agent application.
