How do I transfer my Kentucky license to Real?

Welcome to Real!

Steps to become fully active at Real in Kentucky:

  1. Complete a Real Join Application
  2. Transfer Your License to Real
  3. Facilitate Your Board and MLS Transfers
  4. Update Your Marketing/Advertising
  5. Transfer Your Active Listings to Real
  6. Register for Training
  7. Join the Workvivo State Space
  8. Bookmark the Real Knowledge Base
  9. Download the Real App

 

1️⃣ COMPLETE A REAL JOIN APPLICATION

Complete a Real Application by signing the Independent Contractor Agreement (ICA) and paying the Application Fee using the steps below.

You will need the following items to complete your application:

  • License Number(s) and Expiration Date(s)
  • MLS and Board information
  • Sponsor name and email
  • A photo of the front of your Driver’s License
  • Payment information for the Application Fee

***Remember your login credentials that you create during the Application since this will be your login information for reZEN once your application has been approved.

2️⃣ TRANSFER YOUR LICENSE TO REAL

Now that you have signed your ICA and paid the join fee, it's time to transfer your license to Real! To initiate this process, log into your Kentucky Department of Professional Licensing eServices account. Use the following brokerage information when needed:

  • Real Broker, LLC
  • 222 East Witherspoon Street 1st Floor
  • Louisville, KY 40202
  • License Number: 275003

Please Note: ALL Kentucky agents must purchase Kentucky RISC E&O coverage PRIOR to completing onboarding. Please use the link here to purchase the mandatory E&O insurance coverage. This is MANDATORY to complete onboarding.

 

After completing the above steps:

Your Designated Broker, Ty Brown, and Onboarding Coordinator will confirm the transfer with the Kentucky Department of Professional Licensing.

New to Real? Look out for your welcome email once your license transfer is complete. This will include your Post-Onboarding Instructions, details on our Onboarding class, link to our Marketing Center and more!

Already a Real agent? Please contact Real Support and our support team will add your license to your existing reZEN account.

 

3️⃣ FACILITATE YOUR MLS AND BOARD TRANSFERS

4️⃣ UPDATE YOUR MARKETING/ADVERTISING

Please review all Kentucky advertising requirements here:

KY State Requirements: In all instances of advertising in the state of Kentucky, an advertisement must include:

• Legal name of brokerage; Real Broker or Real Broker LLC

• State brokerage name, Real Broker or Real Broker LLC, must be larger than the team or agent name and/or logo.

• (if applicable) More than one licensee, whether a team, group, other business arrangement, or real estate brokerage company, may collectively use an alternate or assumed name for advertising with the written approval of the principal broker using KREC form 202.

• The name an agent uses in marketing must match the name on their license. If they use an alternate name, nickname or shorten your name ie. Phil instead of Phillip, they have to register it with the Kentucky Real Estate Commission using KREC form 201.

• Any assumed, alternate or nickname can not be used until KREC approves the request.

• Advertising includes but is not limited to social media, websites, print marketing, signage, etc. A web ad or social media ad must show Real Broker or Real Broker LLC without a consumer clicking on a link or ad. Each additional page of a website or advertisement is considered its own advertisement and has the exact requirements as the first page.

• 201 KAR 11105 Advertising - https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/kar/titles/201/011/105/ 

•Any questions as to the legality of the ad must be reviewed and approved by principal broker or designated broker.

5️⃣ TRANSFER YOUR ACTIVE LISTINGS TO REAL

If you are re-listing your active listing(s) with Real Broker, please submit forms electronically to KYbroker@therealbrokerage.com for signature using an electronic signature platform.

  4. Attend Marketing Training - Mondays @ 1PM ET to learn about the many marketing resources available to help you build your brand. 
     
  5. Attend Real's Benefits and Programs to understand what is offered and how to access benefits and programs exclusive to Real Agents.
     
  6. Attend Ways to Earn Income at Real to learn more about Real’s wealth-building opportunities like stock and equity, Elite Agent status, revenue share, and more.
     

7️⃣ JOIN THE WORKVIVO STATE SPACE

Workvivo is our online Real community hub for Real agents. Each State/Province has a Group space for you to to easily see updates and access meetings and resources. You can also join others groups to interact with other agents at Real, especially for referrals and tips.

9️⃣ DOWNLOAD THE REAL APP

To do so, go to www.joinreal.com/app on your mobile device. You’ll be prompted to download the app. You can also search for Real reZEN through the app store on your mobile device.

**Important, you will use the login information you created in Step 1 to log into your agent application.
