How do I transfer my Texas license to Real?

Welcome to Real!

Steps to become fully active at Real in Texas:

1. Complete a Real Join Application
   • Team Setup

1️⃣ COMPLETE A REAL JOIN APPLICATION 

(If you have already submitted your join application, skip this section and scroll down to "TRANSFER YOUR LICENSE TO REAL")

Complete a Real Application by signing the Independent Contractor Agreement (ICA) and paying the Application Fee using the steps below.

You will need the following items to complete your application:

• License Number(s) and Expiration Date(s)
• MLS and Board information
• Sponsor name and email
• A photo of the front of your Driver’s License
• Payment information for the Application Fee

***Remember your login credentials that you create during the Application since this will be your login information for reZEN once your application has been approved.

2️⃣ TRANSFER YOUR LICENSE TO REAL

PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU ARE SUBMITTING YOUR LICENSE REQUEST TO THE CORRECT OFFICE ON TREC TO AVOID DELAYS IN YOUR ONBOARDING. 

1. If you have not done so already, create your REALM account to get started. The original activation email would have came from TREC at no-reply@notices.trec.texas.gov and outlined how to activate and create your new REALM Portal account. 

2. Next, log into your REALM account to Request Sponsorship. Please use the video as reference only on how to request sponsorship on REALM - REALM SPONSORSHIP VIDEO. 

   **If you are a Broker in TREC, you can now request sponsorship on REALM as a Broker Associate 

3. Log into your REALM portal through TREC, then Click “My Records.”
4. When that screen opens, locate your license number and then click on “Amendment” to the right of that.

*PLEASE NOTE - if your license number is not showing up in your REALM account or your account does not have the options as displayed in the screenshots here, please reach out to TREC directly so they can fix the issue.
 

4. Click to select the button for “Information Change TREC” and then click "Continue Application."

   

    

5. In the "Type of Change Request" Click on Drop Down for “Type of Change Requested” & select “Change or
   Request Sponsorship” and then click "Continue Application." 
    

6. On the next screen, Click on “Look Up” … a New Pop Up Window will appear. 

   
    

7. In the pop-up box, select the License Type Drop Down … select Real Estate Business Broker and enter the License Number #9003138 - Click Look Up. REAL Broker will appear (address is Newark 94560) … Click
   Continue Application
   

• If you are joining as a Residential Agent, please select 
  • REAL ESTATE BUSINESS BROKER in the dropdown 
  • and search Real Broker LLC or license 9003138-BB
     
• If you are joining as a Referral Only Agent, please select 
  • REAL ESTATE BUSINESS BROKER in the dropdown 
  • and search Real Broker LFRO, LLC or license 9013940-BB

8.   In the next screen, review your selection
   
    

9. Then click the checkbox to agree to the certification and click "Continue Application"

   

    

10. You will then see a confirmation screen with a Record Number.
    Real's Texas Broker will then receive the request and be able to accept.

After completing the above steps:

Your Designated State Broker, Michael Yarrito, and the Onboarding Coordinator will confirm the transfer/affiliation. Once your license is affiliated with Real and your Join Application is approved you'll receive the Welcome, Next Steps email. 

Already a Real agent? Please contact the Onboarding Team and they will add your license to your existing reZEN account.
 

3️⃣ FACILITATE YOUR MLS AND BOARD TRANSFERS

4️⃣ UPDATE YOUR MARKETING/ADVERTISING

Please review all Texas advertising requirements here:

In all instances of advertising in the state of Texas, an advertisement must include:

• Legal name of brokerage; Real Broker, LLC or approved marketing name; Real or Real Broker
• Team’s logo (if applicable and on a team)
• Real’s approved brokerage name (Real, Real Broker, or Real Broker, LLC ) must be 50% the size of the largest contact information on the sign or advertisement. In most cases this will be the agent/team name or logo.
• Team or group name must end in team or group
• Include new Real logo to build brand equity within the state. (Approved logos can be found here).

Registering your Team Name

Registering your team name with Real is a separate process from registering your team with TREC.

You must verify the team name you want to use is available with TREC and meets their team name requirements. You may choose whatever team name you'd like, however it must:

• end in Team or Group
• be available in TREC, and 
• be approved by your Managing Broker, Michael Yarrito.
• Note: If you previously registered your Team name through another Broker, it would be best to make a request to your previous Broker to terminate their registration; otherwise, this will create confusion with the public.   

For marketing purposes, you are required to match your team name with what is in our system at Real.  

How to Register:

• Review TREC's team name requirements and confirm your name complies with all requirements. Send an email to the TX Designated Broker with your proposed DBA/Team Name for approval txbroker@therealbrokerage.com
• The Agent or Team Lead must complete this form and send the form to txbroker@therealbrokerage.com; the Designated Broker will then register the team name.

5️⃣ TRANSFER YOUR ACTIVE LISTINGS TO REAL

If you are re-listing your active listing(s) with Real Broker, please submit forms electronically to TXsign@therealbrokerage.com for signature using an electronic signature platform.

2. Attend Real Transaction Training - Tuesdays and Thursdays @ 1PM ET to learn how to enter listings and transactions, understand the steps to getting paid, process referral payments, and properly terminate listings or transactions.
    
3. Attend Navigating Real's Technology to learn how to effectively use Real Signature, Real Academy, and Workvivo to help you work smarter and more efficiently.
    
4. Attend Marketing Training - Mondays @ 1PM ET to learn about the many marketing resources available to help you build your brand. 
    
5. Attend Real's Benefits and Programs to understand what is offered and how to access benefits and programs exclusive to Real Agents.
    
6. Attend Ways to Earn Income at Real to learn more about Real’s wealth-building opportunities like stock and equity, Elite Agent status, revenue share, and more.
    

7️⃣ JOIN THE WORKVIVO STATE SPACE

Workvivo is our online Real community hub for Real agents. Each State/Province has a Group space for you to to easily see updates and access meetings and resources. You can also join others groups to interact with other agents at Real, especially for referrals and tips.

To do so, go to www.joinreal.com/app on your mobile device. You’ll be prompted to download the app. You can also search for Real reZEN through the app store on your mobile device.

**Important, you will use the login information you created in Step 1 to log into your agent application.
