How do I transfer my Tennessee license to Real?

Welcome to Real!

Steps to become fully active at Real in Tennessee:

  1. Complete a Real Join Application
  2. Transfer Your License to Real
  3. Facilitate Your Board and MLS Transfers
  4. Update Your Marketing/Advertising

1️⃣ COMPLETE A REAL JOIN APPLICATION

Complete a Real Application by signing the Independent Contractor Agreement (ICA) and paying the Application Fee using the steps below.

You will need the following items to complete your application:

  • License Number(s) and Expiration Date(s)
  • MLS and Board information
  • Sponsor name and email
  • A photo of the front of your Driver’s License
  • Payment information for the Application Fee

***Remember your login credentials that you create during the Application since this will be your login information for reZEN once your application has been approved.

Active Licensees

To transfer your existing license to Real, follow these steps:

  • Effective 1/1/2025, you cannot transfer your license to Real until proof of E&O Insurance is received. TREC rules state all agents must purchase E&O coverage PRIOR to completing onboarding. Coverage MUST be the same or equivalent to the state policy which has a $1,000 deductible. 
    • You can purchase RISC E&O Coverage here.
  • Your Onboarding Coordinator will send you the TREC Form 1: Transfer, Release and Change of Status Form, which will already have New Firm Information completed by your new broker. Complete the Licensee Information section, Check the Appropriate Box and answer the Question Yes/No.
  • Once completed, send it to your current broker to complete and sign the Releasing Firm Information.  
  • Once you have a fully complete TREC Form 1, log into your Tennessee Department of Commerce & Insurance Online Services account. Go to Quick Start Menu > Transfer License and submit the completed form. You will also pay the transfer fee at this time.

New Licensees

If you are a new agent and choosing Real as your brokerage, follow these steps:

  • Send your forms from the testing center to your onboarding coordinator, onboarding@therealbrokerage.com. They will coordinate with your TN broker for signature. 

After completing the above steps:

Your Designated Broker, Tina Baker (Knoxville) or Carrie Walters (Nashville), and Onboarding Coordinator will confirm the transfer with the Tennessee Real Estate Commission.

Once your license is affiliated with Real and your Join Application is approved you'll receive the Welcome, Next Steps email. 

New to Real? Look out for your welcome email once your license transfer is complete. This will include your Post-Onboarding Instructions, details on our Onboarding class, link to our Marketing Center and more!

Already a Real agent? Please contact the Onboarding Team and they will add your license to your existing reZEN account.

4️⃣ UPDATE YOUR MARKETING/ADVERTISING

Please review all Tennessee advertising requirements here:

In all instances of advertising in the state of Tennessee, an advertisement must include:

  • Legal name of brokerage; Real Broker
  • Brokerage phone number - 844-591-7325
  • Brokerage office address is required only on printed mail advertisements
  • Real’s logo
  • Brokerage name print size must be the same size or larger than the agent/team name. Social media/website posts - brokerage information must be available within 1 click from the post.
  • Websites must conspicuously have brokerage name and phone number on every page of the site

5️⃣ TRANSFER YOUR ACTIVE LISTINGS TO REAL

If you are re-listing your active listing(s) with Real Broker, please submit forms electronically to TNsign@therealbrokerage.com for signature using an electronic signature platform.

  2. Attend Real Transaction Training - Tuesdays and Thursdays @ 1PM ET to learn how to enter listings and transactions, understand the steps to getting paid, process referral payments, and properly terminate listings or transactions.
     
  3. Attend Navigating Real's Technology to learn how to effectively use Real Signature, Real Academy, and Workvivo to help you work smarter and more efficiently.
     
  4. Attend Marketing Training - Mondays @ 1PM ET to learn about the many marketing resources available to help you build your brand. 
     
  5. Attend Real's Benefits and Programs to understand what is offered and how to access benefits and programs exclusive to Real Agents.
     
  6. Attend Ways to Earn Income at Real to learn more about Real’s wealth-building opportunities like stock and equity, Elite Agent status, revenue share, and more.
     

7️⃣ JOIN THE WORKVIVO STATE SPACE

Workvivo is our online Real community hub for Real agents. Each State/Province has a Group space for you to to easily see updates and access meetings and resources. You can also join others groups to interact with other agents at Real, especially for referrals and tips.

9️⃣ DOWNLOAD THE REAL APP

To do so, go to www.joinreal.com/app on your mobile device. You’ll be prompted to download the app. You can also search for Real reZEN through the app store on your mobile device.

**Important, you will use the login information you created in Step 1 to log into your agent application.
