How do I transfer my Ohio license to Real?

Welcome to Real!

Steps to become fully active at Real in Ohio:

  1. Complete a Real Join Application
  2. Transfer Your License to Real
  3. Facilitate Your Board and MLS Transfers
  4. Update Your Marketing/Advertising
  5. Transfer Your Active Listings to Real
  6. Register for Training
  7. Join the Workvivo State Space

1️⃣ COMPLETE A REAL JOIN APPLICATION

Complete a Real Application by signing the Independent Contractor Agreement (ICA) and paying the Application Fee using the steps below.

You will need the following items to complete your application:

  • License Number(s) and Expiration Date(s)
  • MLS and Board information
  • Sponsor name and email
  • A photo of the front of your Driver’s License
  • Payment information for the Application Fee

***Remember your login credentials that you create during the Application since this will be your login information for reZEN once your application has been approved.

2️⃣ TRANSFER YOUR LICENSE TO REAL

Active Licensees

To transfer your existing license to Real, follow these steps:

  • Read the page and click Next. Then click Add. Select the drop-down choice REC (Real Estate Company) and add Real's license number: REC.2020008417
  • Select Search from the lower right corner of the screen and click Add. Validate Supervisor Info, leave in Pending Status and click OK.
  • Answer each Ethical question Yes or No, adding comments for each yes response. If you answered yes to any of the questions you must upload a letter of explanation. If you answer Yes to question #11, you will also need to upload supporting documents. Click Next.
  • Read the Attestation Statement and sign by entering your name and today’s date. Click Next.  
  • Review summary of your application. If you have changes click Previous, if correct, select Add to Invoice. Complete the necessary steps to pay your invoice online. All fees are non-refundable. When Payment has been approved, you will receive an email. 

New Licensees

To apply for a new real estate license, follow these steps:

  • First you will need to register with for an eLicense account. Navigate to the Division of Real Estate eLicense Center and click "Register" under the Log In button. Register as an Individual and answer the interactions question accordingly. Complete the Registration Form. Check your email for an automated email notification and click the link to validate your email.
  • Read the next 2 pages of important information. Upload a copy of your official transcript(s)/certificates and click Next. 
  • Verify your Home Address, enter Date of Graduation and Date of Birth, click Next and then Add. 
  • Enter REC and Brokerage License Number: REC.2020008417 in the appropriate field. Click Add and select only one sponsor. Click OK. Validate Supervisor information, leave in Pending Status and click OK.
  • Answer each Ethical question Yes or No, adding comments for each yes response. If you answered yes to any of the questions you must upload a letter of explanation. If you answer Yes to question #11, you will also need to upload supporting documents. Click Next.
  • Read the Attestation Statement and sign by entering your name and today’s date. Click Next.  
  • Review summary of your application. If you have changes click Previous, if correct, select Add to Invoice. Complete the necessary steps to pay your invoice online. All fees are non-refundable. When Payment has been approved, you will receive an email. Once the Brokerage certifies the application, you will receive an email that it has been sent to the test center and notifying you to get your background checks done.

 

After completing the above steps:

Your Designated Broker, Nicole Ward, and Onboarding Coordinator will confirm the transfer with the Ohio Department of Commerce: Division of Real Estate and Professional Licensing and you will be notified by email by the Ohio Department of Commerce when the transfer has been completed. 

Once your license is affiliated with Real and your Join Application is approved you'll receive the Welcome, Next Steps email. 

New to Real? Look out for your welcome email once your license transfer is complete. This will include your Post-Onboarding Instructions, details on our Onboarding class, link to our Marketing Center and more!

Already a Real agent? Please contact the Onboarding Team and they will add your license to your existing reZEN account.

4️⃣ UPDATE YOUR MARKETING/ADVERTISING

Please review all Ohio advertising requirements here:

In all instances of advertising in the state of Ohio, an advertisement must include:

  • Broker Identification in all ads (Real of Ohio)
  • The name of the brokerage "Real of Ohio" shall be displayed in equal prominence with the name of the salesperson in the advertisement.
  • Must advertise in your name as it appears on your license
  • (if applicable) Team advertising must include the brokerage name in all ads
  • Team (if applicable) and agents name cannot be more prominent than brokerage name.
  • According to HUD guidelines, all advertising of residential real estate for sale or rent should contain an equal housing opportunity logotype, statement, or slogan as a means of educating the home-seeking public that the property is available to all persons, regardless of race, color, religion, sex, handicap, familial status, or national origin.
  • Logos aren't part of brokerage name

5️⃣ TRANSFER YOUR ACTIVE LISTINGS TO REAL

If you are re-listing your active listing(s) with Real Broker, please submit forms electronically to OHsign@therealbrokerage.com for signature using an electronic signature platform.

  3. Attend Navigating Real's Technology to learn how to effectively use Real Signature, Real Academy, and Workvivo to help you work smarter and more efficiently.
     
  4. Attend Marketing Training - Mondays @ 1PM ET to learn about the many marketing resources available to help you build your brand. 
     
  5. Attend Real's Benefits and Programs to understand what is offered and how to access benefits and programs exclusive to Real Agents.
     
  6. Attend Ways to Earn Income at Real to learn more about Real’s wealth-building opportunities like stock and equity, Elite Agent status, revenue share, and more.
     

7️⃣ JOIN THE WORKVIVO STATE SPACE

Workvivo is our online Real community hub for Real agents. Each State/Province has a Group space for you to to easily see updates and access meetings and resources. You can also join others groups to interact with other agents at Real, especially for referrals and tips.

9️⃣ DOWNLOAD THE REAL APP

To do so, go to www.joinreal.com/app on your mobile device. You’ll be prompted to download the app. You can also search for Real reZEN through the app store on your mobile device.

**Important, you will use the login information you created in Step 1 to log into your agent application.
