How do I transfer my New Jersey license to Real?

Welcome to Real!

Steps to become fully active at Real in New Jersey:

  1. Complete a Real Join Application
  2. Transfer Your License to Real
  3. Facilitate Your Board and MLS Transfers
  4. Update Your Marketing/Advertising
  5. Transfer Your Active Listings to Real
  6. Register for Training
  7. Join the Workvivo State Space
  8. Bookmark the Real Knowledge Base
  9. Download the Real App

 

1️⃣ COMPLETE A REAL JOIN APPLICATION

Complete a Real Application by signing the Independent Contractor Agreement (ICA) and paying the Application Fee using the steps below.

You will need the following items to complete your application:

  • License Number(s) and Expiration Date(s)
  • MLS and Board information
  • Sponsor name and email
  • A photo of the front of your Driver’s License
  • Payment information for the Application Fee

***Remember your login credentials that you create during the Application since this will be your login information for reZEN once your application has been approved.

2️⃣ TRANSFER YOUR LICENSE TO REAL

Active Licensees

To transfer your existing license to Real, follow these steps:

  • Before we can affiliate you with Real, you need to contact your current broker and ask them to release your license.
  • Once you have been released from your previous brokerage, reach out to your Onboarding Coordinator at onboarding@therealbrokerage.com. They will work with your new broker, Eric Axelson, to add your license to our roster.

IMPORTANT: You may NOT practice real estate until you are showing active with Real Broker on the New Jersey Real Estate Commission's website.

New Licensees

If you are a new agent and choosing Real as your brokerage, follow these steps:

  • Email the following items to your broker, Eric Axelson, at njbroker@therealbrokerage.com and to your Onboarding Coordinator at onboarding@therealbrokerage.com.
    • Your PSI passing form signed by you.
    • Your IdentiGO receipt from your fingerprints and background check.
    • One of the following forms of identification: driver's license, US Passport, or INS Form I-551 (Green Card).
  • Your Onboarding Coordinator will send you an invoice for the balance of the NJ Real Estate Commission Initial License Fee.
  • Once you have paid your initial license fee please let your Onboarding Coordinator know, they will add your application to our brokerage on NJ DOBI.

Broker License:

If you have an active salesperson license and want to upgrade to a broker license, please contact NJBroker@therealbrokerage.com for help with your Broker license. 

 

After completing the above steps:

Your Designated Broker, Eric Axelson, and Onboarding Coordinator will confirm the transfer with the New Jersey Department of Licensing.

Once your license is affiliated with Real and your Join Application is approved you'll receive the Welcome, Next Steps email. 

New to Real? Look out for your welcome email once your license transfer is complete. This will include your Post-Onboarding Instructions, details on our Onboarding class, link to our Marketing Center and more!

Already a Real agent? Please contact the Onboarding Team and they will add your license to your existing reZEN account.

4️⃣ UPDATE YOUR MARKETING/ADVERTISING

Please review all New Jersey advertising requirements here:

In all instances of advertising in the state of New Jersey, an advertisement must include:

  • Legal name of Brokerage; Real, or Real Broker, LLC
  • If agent’s name is used, must be as it reads on their license
  • Nicknames can be in quotes: Example: Robert “Eric” Axelson
  • Agent’s title must be included. Agents can use Salesperson, Sales Representative, Sales Associate or REALTOR-ASSOCIATE®. Broker-Salespersons can use Broker-Salesperson, Broker-Associate, Associate Broker or REALTOR-ASSOCIATE®. Only the broker of record can use the term REALTOR® by itself in NJ.
  • Brokerage phone number: 855-450-0442
  • If agent’s number is used, agent’s and brokerage’s number must be identified in some manner. Ex: “office” for office or “c” for cell.
  • If address is used, must be one of the brokerage main or branch office addresses
  • Agent/Team’s name and number cannot be bigger or bolder than the brokerage name and number. The brokerage name should be a hair larger. The numbers can be the same size.
  • Team names (if applicable) cannot end in Real Estate, Realty, or REALTORS. They can have those words in the name, but should end in Group or Team.

5️⃣ TRANSFER YOUR ACTIVE LISTINGS TO REAL

If you are re-listing your active listing(s) with Real Broker, please submit forms electronically to NJsign@therealbrokerage.com for signature using an electronic signature platform.

  1. Attend Real Onboarding - Wednesdays @ 2PM ET for everything you need to know to get started: completing onboarding, transitioning into Real, an introduction to reZEN and our agent tools, support resources, Real’s key benefits and programs, and your first steps as a Real agent.
     
  2. Attend Real Transaction Training - Tuesdays and Thursdays @ 1PM ET to learn how to enter listings and transactions, understand the steps to getting paid, process referral payments, and properly terminate listings or transactions.
     
  3. Attend Navigating Real's Technology to learn how to effectively use Real Signature, Real Academy, and Workvivo to help you work smarter and more efficiently.
     
  4. Attend Marketing Training - Mondays @ 1PM ET to learn about the many marketing resources available to help you build your brand. 
     
  5. Attend Real's Benefits and Programs to understand what is offered and how to access benefits and programs exclusive to Real Agents.
     
  6. Attend Ways to Earn Income at Real to learn more about Real’s wealth-building opportunities like stock and equity, Elite Agent status, revenue share, and more.
     

7️⃣ JOIN THE WORKVIVO STATE SPACE

Workvivo is our online Real community hub for Real agents. Each State/Province has a Group space for you to to easily see updates and access meetings and resources. You can also join others groups to interact with other agents at Real, especially for referrals and tips.

9️⃣ DOWNLOAD THE REAL APP

To do so, go to www.joinreal.com/app on your mobile device. You’ll be prompted to download the app. You can also search for Real reZEN through the app store on your mobile device.

**Important, you will use the login information you created in Step 1 to log into your agent application.
