How do I transfer my Georgia license to Real?

Welcome to Real!

Steps to become fully active at Real in Georgia:

  1. Complete a Real Join Application
  2. Transfer Your License to Real
  3. Facilitate Your Board and MLS Transfers
  4. Update Your Marketing/Advertising
  5. Transfer Your Active Listings to Real
  6. Register for Training
  7. Join the Workvivo State Space
  8. Bookmark the Real Knowledge Base
  9. Download the Real App

 

1️⃣ COMPLETE A REAL JOIN APPLICATION

Complete a Real Application by signing the Independent Contractor Agreement (ICA) and paying the Application Fee using the steps below.

You will need the following items to complete your application:

  • License Number(s) and Expiration Date(s)
  • MLS and Board information
  • Sponsor name and email
  • A photo of the front of your Driver’s License
  • Payment information for the Application Fee

***Remember your login credentials that you create during the Application since this will be your login information for reZEN once your application has been approved.

2️⃣ TRANSFER YOUR LICENSE TO REAL

Active Licensees

To transfer your existing license to Real, follow these steps:

  • Please request that your current broker release your license with the Georgia Real Estate Commission. We are unable to affiliate your license with Real until this happens.
  • Once your license is not currently active with a broker, please contact your Onboarding Coordinator to add your license to our roster with GREC.
  • If you are a Broker/Qualifying Broker, you will need to first apply for an associate broker license.  Please reach out to gabroker@therealbrokerage.com as the broker has to write a letter to GREC on your behalf.  Once your Associate Broker license is issued it can be affiliated with Real.
  • If you're looking to move to Real Select our Referral Only program, please contact your Onboarding Coordinator to add your license to our roster with GREC.

New Licensees

To apply for a new real estate license, follow these steps:

  • Prior to associating with a brokerage, you MUST pass the licensing examination.
    • If that has not been completed, please let us know when you plan to take your examination.
  • Please complete the GA New Licensee - Sponsoring Broker Statement Form that will be sent to you in Real Signature.
  • After you complete the top portion of the document, it will be signed by the Georgia Broker in Charge.
  • Once executed, you will receive the document to submit to the testing center and they will activate your license.
    • Please let us know when you have sent in that document. 

 

After completing the above steps:

Your Designated Broker, Kimberly Magee, and Onboarding Coordinator will receive a message from the Georgia Real Estate Commission confirming the transfer. To transfer your FMLS and/or GAMLS and Board/Association membership please reach out to gabroker@therealbrokerage.com and gabic1@therealbrokerage.com, and the GA broker team will assist you, as they must add you to the roster.

Once your license is affiliated with Real and your Join Application is approved you'll receive the Welcome, Next Steps email. 

New to Real? Look out for your welcome email once your license transfer is complete. This will include your Post-Onboarding Instructions, details on our Onboarding class, link to our Marketing Center and more!

Already a Real agent? Please contact the Onboarding Team and they will add your license to your existing reZEN account.
 

3️⃣ FACILITATE YOUR MLS AND BOARD TRANSFERS

If you are a member of GAMLS and/or FMLS, Real's Onboarding Team will affiliate you in the system once your license is transferred. 

Multi-License / Border States

You are required to join a local Board of Realtors and maintain good standing. 

  • If you are licensed in more than one State and Georgia is your primary State: you are required to join a Board of Realtors in Georgia.
  • If you are licensed in more than one state and Georgia is your secondary State:
    • You must carry state-level membership through GA Realtors.
    • Dual licensed agents can also obtain a secondary membership through GA Realtors to satisfy the GA board requirement when primarily licensed in TN, more info below!
    • In this case, you will not be required to join a local board of Realtors - provided your Primary Board of Realtors (in the other State) provides coverage in both areas (e.g. Tennessee and Georgia).
    • Regardless of whether you join a local Georgia Board, you must use GAR Approved Forms for all contracts, as per the GA ICA.

Secondary Membership

If you have a primary membership in the National Association of REALTORS® through another state, then your membership options with us are as follows.

You may join:

  1. the Georgia Association of REALTORS® (GAR) only. (Benefits include on-line access to GAR Contract Forms, legislative updates, our Georgia REALTORS® magazine, networking at the state level, discounts from our Affinity Partners, and discounts for GAR classes and conferences.)
  2. both a Georgia local board/association and GAR.

4️⃣ UPDATE YOUR MARKETING/ADVERTISING

Please review all Georgia advertising requirements here:

In all instances of advertising in the state of Georgia, an advertisement must include:

  • Legal name of brokerage (Real or Real Broker LLC)
  • Name of the firm must appear in equal or greater size, prominence, and frequency than the name or names of any affiliated licensees or groups of licensees Team.
  • Agent’s title - Agent/Realtor/Associate Broker This is elective and not a requirement
  • Agent’s phone number
  • Brokerage phone number - 855-450-0442 (must be equal or greater in size than any telephone numbers of any affiliated licensees or groups of licensees)
  • Brokerage’s address with the state optional unless firm has a policy in place stating
    Advertising does not require the brokerage address but cannot be a team address
  • Team name (if applicable)
  • Agent website - EVERY page must include brokerage name & brokerage phone number
  • Real’s logo and team’s logo (if on a team) optional. A team logo cannot exceed the size of Real or Real Broker LLC on signage. The Real logo alone is not sufficient for compliance.
  • Prefer the equal housing logo on signage and in advertisements as space permits

5️⃣ TRANSFER YOUR ACTIVE LISTINGS TO REAL

If you are re-listing your active listing(s) with Real Broker, please submit forms electronically to GAsign@therealbrokerage.com for signature using an electronic signature platform.

  1. Attend Real Onboarding - Wednesdays @ 2PM ET for everything you need to know to get started: completing onboarding, transitioning into Real, an introduction to reZEN and our agent tools, support resources, Real’s key benefits and programs, and your first steps as a Real agent.
     
  2. Attend Real Transaction Training - Tuesdays and Thursdays @ 1PM ET to learn how to enter listings and transactions, understand the steps to getting paid, process referral payments, and properly terminate listings or transactions.
     
  3. Attend Navigating Real's Technology to learn how to effectively use Real Signature, Real Academy, and Workvivo to help you work smarter and more efficiently.
     
  4. Attend Marketing Training - Mondays @ 1PM ET to learn about the many marketing resources available to help you build your brand. 
     
  5. Attend Real's Benefits and Programs to understand what is offered and how to access benefits and programs exclusive to Real Agents.
     
  6. Attend Ways to Earn Income at Real to learn more about Real’s wealth-building opportunities like stock and equity, Elite Agent status, revenue share, and more.
     

7️⃣ JOIN THE WORKVIVO STATE SPACE

Workvivo is our online Real community hub for Real agents. Each State/Province has a Group space for you to to easily see updates and access meetings and resources. You can also join others groups to interact with other agents at Real, especially for referrals and tips.

8️⃣ VISIT AND BOOKMARK THE REAL KNOWLEDGEBASE 

The Real KnowledgeBase is our collection of digital articles, including FAQs, how-to guides, and tutorials, that you can search to learn more and understand all the resources and benefits of Real.
 

9️⃣ DOWNLOAD THE REAL APP

To do so, go to www.joinreal.com/app on your mobile device. You’ll be prompted to download the app. You can also search for Real reZEN through the app store on your mobile device.

**Important, you will use the login information you created in Step 1 to log into your agent application.
