How do I transfer my South Dakota license to Real?

Welcome to Real!

Steps to become fully active at Real in South Dakota:

  1. Complete a Real Join Application
  2. Transfer Your License to Real
  3. Facilitate Your Board and MLS Transfers
  4. Update Your Marketing/Advertising
  5. Transfer Your Active Listings to Real
  6. Register for Training
  7. Join the Workvivo State Space
  8. Bookmark the Real Knowledge Base
  9. Download the Real App

 

1️⃣ COMPLETE A REAL JOIN APPLICATION

Complete a Real Application by signing the Independent Contractor Agreement (ICA) and paying the Application Fee using the steps below.

You will need the following items to complete your application:

  • License Number(s) and Expiration Date(s)
  • MLS and Board information
  • Sponsor name and email
  • A photo of the front of your Driver’s License
  • Payment information for the Application Fee

***Remember your login credentials that you create during the Application since this will be your login information for reZEN once your application has been approved.

 If you are advertising as a Team, please complete the form here (if you have not already) in order to record and setup that up properly with Real.
 

2️⃣ TRANSFER YOUR LICENSE TO REAL

Now that you have signed your ICA and paid the join fee, it's time to transfer your license to Real! 

  • You will be sent the SDREC transfer form electronically from the onboarding team to complete.
  • Once the form is complete and signed by you and your Designated Broker, you will then need to send the form to your current broker to sign.
  • Once all signatures have been collected, next go on the licensee online services portal on the South Dakota Real Estate Commission Site and upload the signed Change of Association/Address Form and pay the $15 transfer fee payment - see below for instructions. Note that processing may take up to 3 days.

How to Download & Upload Change of Association/Address Form:

  • Click Change of Address / Association Form

  • You may download the form, please work with sdbroker@therealbrokerage.com to complete the form to make sure you are in the correct business office. 

  • Once the form is completed by you and Real's Broker, please send to your current broker to complete Step 2

  • Login with your username and password

  • Under Actions, select 7. Request Change of Association. Then click Go. 

  • In Section 1, click Select this License next to the license you want to transfer
  • In Section 2, select Real Broker LLC, Sioux Falls
  • In Section 3, select the date you want to transfer
  • In Section 4, upload the Change of Address / Association Form
  • In Section 5, check you have read and agree
  • In Section 6, click Continue to Payment. 

  • Enter your payment information, then click Submit at the bottom. 

After completing the above steps:

You can check online on the transfer status via the South Dakota Department of Labor and Regulation (SDREC) Licensee List.

Already a Real agent? Please contact Real Support and our support team will add your license to your existing reZEN account.

4️⃣ UPDATE YOUR MARKETING/ADVERTISING

Please review all South Dakota advertising requirements here:

SD State Requirements: In all instances of advertising in the state of South Dakota, an advertisement must include:

  • Legal name of brokerage: Real Broker, LLC
  • Brokerage phone number: (605) 609-1056
  • Real’s logo

5️⃣ TRANSFER YOUR ACTIVE LISTINGS TO REAL

If you are re-listing your active listing(s) with Real Broker, please submit forms electronically to sdbroker@therealbrokerage.com for signature using an electronic signature platform.

  3. Attend Navigating Real's Technology to learn how to effectively use Real Signature, Real Academy, and Workvivo to help you work smarter and more efficiently.
     
  4. Attend Marketing Training - Mondays @ 1PM ET to learn about the many marketing resources available to help you build your brand. 
     
  5. Attend Real's Benefits and Programs to understand what is offered and how to access benefits and programs exclusive to Real Agents.
     
  6. Attend Ways to Earn Income at Real to learn more about Real’s wealth-building opportunities like stock and equity, Elite Agent status, revenue share, and more.
     

7️⃣ JOIN THE WORKVIVO STATE SPACE

Workvivo is our online Real community hub for Real agents. Each State/Province has a Group space for you to to easily see updates and access meetings and resources. You can also join others groups to interact with other agents at Real, especially for referrals and tips.

8️⃣ VISIT AND BOOKMARK THE REAL KNOWLEDGEBASE

9️⃣ DOWNLOAD THE REAL APP

To do so, go to www.joinreal.com/app on your mobile device. You’ll be prompted to download the app. You can also search for Real reZEN through the app store on your mobile device.

**Important, you will use the login information you created in Step 1 to log into your agent application.
