Steps to become fully active at Real in Ontario:

1. Complete a Real Join Application

1️⃣ COMPLETE A REAL JOIN APPLICATION

Complete a Real Application by signing the Independent Contractor Agreement (ICA) and paying the Application Fee using the steps below.

You will need the following items to complete your application:

• License Number(s) and Expiration Date(s)
• MLS and Board information
• Sponsor name and email
• A photo of the front of your Driver’s License
• Payment information for the Application Fee

***Remember your login credentials that you create during the Application since this will be your login information for reZEN once your application has been approved.

 If you are advertising as a Team, please complete the form here (if you have not already) in order to record and setup that up properly with Real.
 

2️⃣ TRANSFER YOUR LICENSE TO REAL

1. Once you have completed your Real Join Application (see steps above), provide a copy of the resignation letter that was sent to your previous broker as this is a RECO requirement by emailing it to your Onboarding Coordinator - onboarding@therealbrokerage.com
2. Once RECO transfer is complete, a notification will be sent to the agent and broker with the updated license certificate will be mailed in the post.
3. If you have a personal real estate corporation (PREC), You can click Here to visit a guide on how to set up your PREC with the brokerage in Ontario.

After completing the above steps:

Your Designated Broker, Lori Ann West, and Onboarding Coordinator will confirm the transfer.

Once your license is affiliated with Real and your Join Application is approved you'll receive the Welcome, Next Steps email. 

New to Real? Look out for your welcome email once your license transfer is complete. This will include your Post-Onboarding Instructions, details on our Onboarding class, link to our Marketing Center and more!

Already a Real agent? Please contact the Onboarding Team and they will add your license to your existing reZEN account.
 

3️⃣ FACILITATE YOUR MLS AND BOARD TRANSFERS

4️⃣ UPDATE YOUR MARKETING/ADVERTISING

Please review all Ontario advertising requirements here:

 In all instances of advertising in the state of Ontario, an advertisement must include:

• Legal name of brokerage;
  • Real Broker Ontario Ltd., Brokerage
• Real’s Logo
• The identification of registrants: clearly and prominently include the registered name of the registrant that is placing the advertisement.
• The identification of the brokerage & its registration category: clearly and prominently include the registered name of the brokerage and brokerage registration category as “Brokerage”.
• Any and all advertising is required to be approved by the Broker of Record for RECO compliance and marketing for branding approval.
• Registrant designation. must be placed under name. See description options below.

TEAMS

• Team name may not include the word Realty, if using Real Estate you are required to set it up like ABS Real Estate Team or Group.
• You are not permitted to imply that you are a real estate brokerage

Description of registration category:

• Salesperson terms: “salesperson”, “real estate agent”, “real estate salesperson”, “sales representative”, “real estate sales representative”, “REALTOR®”, “REALTOR®
  salesperson”
• Broker terms “broker”, “broker real estate agent”, “real estate agent”, or “real estate broker”, “REALTOR®”*, “REALTOR® broker.” Broker of Record terms “broker of record”, “real estate broker of record”, “real estate agent”, “broker real estate agent”, “REALTOR®”, “REALTOR® broker”
• Brokerage terms “brokerage” or “real estate brokerage”
• In larger advertisements where multiple registrants are identified, registrants are permitted to use a clear and visible symbol (such as an asterisk) to denote a description throughout the page.

Note: Definition of “clearly and prominently" - Registrant identification information must be sufficiently sized and placed within the advertisement so that it can reasonably be noticed and understood by the intended audience.

5️⃣ TRANSFER YOUR ACTIVE LISTINGS TO REAL

You can either cancel your listing at your previous brokerage and re-list with Real on the MLS - or you can have these assigned to Real:

1. Complete the Assignment to Listing Agreement forms (Form 243 Sale / 215 Lease)
2. Ensure all parties have signed, including your previous brokerage. *NOTE: Your RECO license must be transferred to Real before the broker signs the assignment
3. Send the form for electronic signature to Lori Ann West at onbroker@therealbrokerage.com
4. Send the completed form to the board directly to process

6️⃣ REGISTER FOR TRAINING WITH YOUR BROKER TEAM

1. Ontario New Agent Orientation

   Every Thursday, 11 a.m. ET Register

   New Real Agent Orientation Session with your Broker Team. Learn processes, tools and resources for your province.

    

2. Ontario Monthly Townhall Meeting

   2nd Tuesday Every Month, 10:30 a.m. ET Register 

   Hear from your Broker team and connect with your fellow Real Agents. Learn news, updates and features, reminders, training and compliance, and hear from guest speakers.  

7️⃣ REGISTER FOR REAL TRAINING

1. Attend Real Onboarding - Wednesdays @ 2PM ET to learn everything you need to know to get started: completing onboarding, transitioning into Real, an introduction to reZEN and our agent tools, support resources, Real’s key benefits and programs, and your first steps as a Real agent.
    
2. Attend Real Marketing - Mondays at 1PM ET to learn about the many marketing resources available to help you build your brand. 
    
3. Attend Real Transaction Training - Thursdays @ 1PM ET to learn how to enter listings and transactions, understand the steps to getting paid, process referral payments, and properly terminate listings or transactions. 
    
4. Attend Navigating Real's Technology to learn how to effectively use Real Signature, Real Academy, and Workvivo to help you work smarter and more efficiently.
    
5. Attend Real's Benefits and Programs to understand what is offered and how to access benefits and programs exclusive to Real Agents.
    
6. Attend Ways to Earn Income at Real to learn more about Real’s wealth-building opportunities like stock and equity, Elite Agent status, revenue share, and more.
    

8️⃣ JOIN THE WORKVIVO PROVINCE SPACE

Workvivo is our online Real community hub for Real agents. Each State/Province has a Group space for you to to easily see updates and access meetings and resources. You can also join others groups to interact with other agents at Real, especially for referrals and tips.
