Alberta
How to transfer your active listings:
RECA and most Boards in Alberta recommend you cancel your listing with your previous Brokerage, then re-list with Real.
Read below for guidance from each Board:
-
Calgary Real Estate Board:
- Complete the Associate Transfer/Terminate form and submit it to crebmsc@creb.ca. The form is on CREB®Link.
- CREB® will check to see if they have any active listings with their old Brokerage, those will be terminated, and you will have to re-list with new Brokerage.
-
Real Estate Association of Edmonton:
- If you are changing from a common law brokerage to another common law brokerage, then you can get amendments signed to transfer the listings.
- If either brokerage is designated, the listings will have to be terminated then relisted once you have changed brokerages.
-
Central Alberta Real Estate Association:
- Have your previous Brokerage terminate the listing, then re-list with Real Broker.
- CREA will not transfer listings between brokerages. They will only put them into the old brokerage name (if they haven’t been terminated already) and then it is up to the agent to re-list.
- If you need your transaction desk transferred (for webforms), your Previous Brokerage will need to send these.
-
Grande Prairie & Area Association of Realtors:
- You will need to cancel all active listings with your previous Brokerage so GPAAR can copy and re-assign the listing.
- There are no forms, but you must email a list of all MLS numbers to transfer to list@gpaar.ca, so they know what to copy.
- If anything remains active after you’ve transferred, the listing will get moved to the Broker’s account and you will need to get the Broker to cancel the listing and then send over the new agreement to get it put in their name after the fact.
-
Medicine Hat
- Cancel the listing with your previous Brokerage and relist the property with Real by way of a new Representation Agreement.
-
Medicine Hat will also accept an amendment signed by the Seller indicating they authorize the listing to now be serviced by Real Broker. If you choose this option:
- Your previous Brokerage must send the Board a letter stating the MLS® numbers and listings have been released by their Brokerage.
- The Board will not modify the listings in Pillar 9 until they receive amendments signed by the Seller and the release letter from your previous Broker.

The email address for FVREB - memsvsc@fvreb.bc.ca to transfer listings is incorrect.
The correct address should be mlslistings@FVREB.bc.ca
