Getting Started:
- If your brokerage has a physical office location, kick-off the approval process by completing the Physical Office Application - Found HERE
Step 1: Is your business name registered as an Assumed Name? Cancel your Assumed Name with the Oregon Secretary of State
- There are multiple ways to cancel your existing Assumed Name:
-
- File the Assumed Business Name - Cancellation Form via mail - Found HERE
-
- Complete and print the form
- Prepare $50 check for filing fees
- Mail payment and form to:
- Secretary of State - Corporation Division 255 Capitol St. NE, Suite 151 Salem, OR 97310

Step 2: Real files the Assumed Name Application with the Secretary of State
- Once the Assumed Name is officially released, the Private Label team will file the application to have the Assumed Name add to Real.
-
- Note: Step 1 must be fully processed in order to continue to this step. The SOS will not approve any Assumed Name for real if that name is already in use.
-
Step 3: Real submits the Registered Business Name Application to the Oregon Real Estate Agency
- The SOS Assumed Name Application must be fully processed in order to complete this step as OREA requires that Real provide proof of affiliation with the new Assumed Name.
- In order for OREA to recognize the new assumed name Real must submit the RBN Application and attach the Affiliate RBN Form
