If you referred a client to another Real agent, no additional action is needed on your end! Just make sure the other agent follows these instructions: How to pay an agent who referred someone to you.
A referral transaction will automatically be created when the agent you referred to enters and adds you as a participant on the transaction.
That's it, you're done!
Step 2: Enter the Referral in reZEN.
You should create the referral in reZEN when the sale price and closing date is firm. This takes 30 seconds - watch the video below or keep reading for details.
When you are in the Real App, make sure you are in "My Transactions" (left hand side) and click "Create Referral" on the top right.
The system will walk you through a series of questions.
Once you've completed all the steps, review and click "Create Referral." The system will create a transaction, just like any other transaction.
How to edit a referral in reZEN:
If the sale price, closing date, or anything else changed, you can edit the referral in reZEN:
- Click "Manage Participants" if you want to add someone else on the referral
- Click "Edit Transaction" if you need to edit information on the referral. A module will pop up on the right.
Step 3: Upload referral agreement in reZEN:
Step 3: Upload Referral Agreement in reZEN. Once the referral is in the system, please upload the referral agreement for your Broker to review.
- In the referral, click Checklist to see all required referral documentation
- Click
to upload the documents.
If you want to track the progress of your referral, click Road to Success. This is tailored to a referral and will show you the specific steps to help you understand where your referral is in the process.
Step 4: upload proof of payment to reZEN & Approve Commission Calculation.
Make sure to provide Real's W9 to the agent you referred your client to.
Step 4: Upload proof of payment to reZEN & Approve Commission Calculation. Once the transaction closes, the brokerage should remit payment to Real, then Real will remit payment to you. It is very important that Real has documentation to match the funds received to your referral.
Once the transaction closes, ask the agent or brokerage to provide a copy of check or receipt of wire transfer. If this is unavailable, ask for:
- Check number or wire receipt number
- Date check or wire transfer was sent
- Exact amount of the payment
- Who the payment is coming from (name on the Check)
Once you receive the documentation, please upload it to the referral in reZEN. There is a checklist item called “Proof of Payment.” This information helps Real’s Accounting Team match the funds received to your referral. So you can get paid quickly 🙂
Once you have uploaded all required documents, please double check the referral amount and click Approve Commission Calculation. This will move the transaction to your Broker to review.
If you don’t receive the payment within 5 business days, follow up with support@therealbrokerage.com.
