When an agent joins Real, they have the opportunity to name one or two sponsors. A Sponsor is someone who introduces a licensed agent to Real, explains our business model and potential benefits, and in the licensee's determination, is the one who most influenced them to become an agent with Real.
Agents designate sponsors by naming them in the sponsorship section in the Independent Contractor Agreement.
If you expect an agent to be in your network but is not, there are a few things to check:
- Did the agent name you as a sponsor in the Independent Contractor Agreement?
- In order to be named as a sponsor, the newly joining agent must designate you at the time that they sign the Independent Contractor Agreement.
- Once the Independent Contractor Agreement is signed, the name(s) listed will not be changed for any reason. This includes, but is not limited to divorces or an agent leaving a team.
- Is the agent returning to Real? Did they offboard less than 365 days ago?
- Agents returning to Real cannot change their sponsor unless they offboarded from Real more than 365 days ago.
- If an agent leaves Real and comes back within 365 days, they may not change sponsors, even if they name a new sponsor in the ICA.
