Is a Buyer Representation Agreement, or other written agreement, required before touring homes with a Buyer?

Yes. This is required. 

 

There are four broad options to get a written agreement signed:

  1. Touring Agreement: this is a scaled down version of the Buyer Representation Agreement to start the touring process. 
    1. Real is in the process of building Touring Agreements that are compliant in each State. 
  2. Non-Exclusive State/Local Showing Agreement: an agreement that establishes the buyer-agent relationship without exclusivity. 
  3. Adjusted Scope Buyer Representation Agreement: - typically, this adjusts the scope to make it easier for the buyer to agree to a specific situation
  4. Buyer Representation Agreement: - the full agreement
