How to deposit a commission cheque with an external deposit link

If the lawyer or someone else is holding the physical cheque, you can send a unique link so they can electronically deposit the cheque.

Before you get started:

Please make sure:

  • The cheque is made out to Real Broker or official trade name of province.
    • Alberta: Real Broker AB Ltd. or Real Broker
    • BC: Real Broker BC Ltd. or Real Broker
    • Manitoba: NOT AVAILABLE
    • Ontario: Real Broker Ontario Ltd., Brokerage
  • Cheque is signed on the front. 
  • Leave the back blank. 
  • Your transaction shows “Trade Record Sheet Confirmed” in reZEN

How to deposit the cheque:

Step 1: Login to reZEN. Find the transaction you need to deposit funds into. Click the Deposits tab, then click Get External Commission Deposit Link.

  • Make sure you are in the Commission Deposits section (not trust deposits).

Step 2: This will open up a module with a unique link and instructions. Copy the link & send it to the Lawyer / Other Brokerage (whoever is holding the commission cheque).

Step 4: When the lawyer / other brokerage (person holding the commission cheque) opens the link, they will be asked to fill out some information, including: their name (depositor's full name) and contact information, closing date, the cheque amount, and images of the cheque. 

Once this is submitted, Real will receive the funds and automatically match them to your transaction. For more information, see: Step 8: Confirm Funds & Pay Agent - Canada.

 

Step 5: Your deposit will appear in reZEN, in the Commission Deposits section of your transaction. The deposit must be confirmed by Real's Finance Team. We will review in 48hrs and approve the deposit. Once confirmed, no further action is needed with the deposit. Please make sure all your documents are uploaded and reviewed + approved by your Broker.
