Major Medical vs Healthshare
Question: What is the difference between Major Medical and Healthshare plans?
Answer: Major Medical plans are traditional insurance regulated by the ACA; Healthshare plans are membership-based programs where members share medical expenses. Major Medical are for profit entities while Healthshare companies are charitable not for profit organizations.
Question: Which plan is right for me—Major Medical or Healthshare?
Answer: Major Medical may be better if you want full ACA protections. Healthshare is ideal if you're healthy individuals who want lower monthly costs. It depends on certain pre-existing condition and medications the individual is taking, the Healthshare plan may not be suitable, and the best option is a Major Medical plan.
